There are times when Nature forces us to stop and become aware of our insignificance. COVID-19 is one of those moments. It is a wake-up call, an invitation to change. An opportunity to respect more this wonderful planet we inhabit and that we so often disrespect. But, rather than focusing on what we have lost, we must appeal to what is most human in us and act towards change. We must fight to continue to exist, to move forward...

So, at Chão do Rio...

...we continue to do all this, but in a safe way, with reinforced hygiene rules and with greater social distance. You will be able to see us physically further away, but you will feel that we are as close to you as we have always been.

We are committed to you and Turismo de Portugal to accept the rules of the Clean & Safe Seal. These rules aim to ensure everyone's safety: yours, our team's and our community's. 

This commitment is reflected in our internal protocol, which is being adapted according to the epidemiological context in force. Below, we summarize the essence of our Internal Protocol, in force since 2022, October:

IN OUR FACILITIES

You will find relevant information on how to protect yourself.

You will find disinfectant gel for use in social areas and also at your home at Chão do Rio.

We reinforced our cleaning and disinfection measures, using appropriate hygiene products.

Whenever the team considers it prudent, as a complementary safety measure, we use disinfectant misting equipment, which we will apply in our houses between guests changing.

We provide you with self-service disinfectant spraying equipment to protect yourself when using our shared bicycles.

We reduced the occupancy in order to avoid more than two guest changing houses per day (so we will have more time to sanitize everything that needs to be sanitized).

OUR TEAM

Received training on how to comply with basic infection prevention and control rules, namely for daily self-monitoring of symptoms.

Received personal protective equipment appropriate to the level of risk of the duties performed.

Received uniform to change daily at the workplace.

Is encouraged to schedule COVID-19 vaccinations.

Have free access to rapid COVID-19 tests, in case of suspected infection.

In the event of illness in any member of the team, the distance from our guests, the rest of the team, or functions with risk of contagion surfaces is assured.

OUR GUESTS

You will find masks and gloves at reception, as well as kits consisting of FFP2 masks and disinfectant wipes, for purchase.

In case of COVID-19 illness, may reschedule their reservation free of charge, up to 48 hours before the scheduled check-in date, for use within a period of up to 6 months after the scheduled check-in date.

Will do electronic check-in.

Ensure social distancing of at least 2 meters in all contacts in Chão do Rio and in Travancinha village.

In any need, should prioritize the previous telephone contact to +351 919 523 269 (we have WhatsApp).

Must leave their home during daily cleaning and schedule the cleaning at check-in for the period between 10:00 and 11:30. Cleaning will exclude washing dishes from the kitchenette, as a way of reducing the risk of exposure of the cleaning team.

May receive a 5% discount on the total amount of their stay if they waive the daily cleaning. Despite the discount, we will keep changing towels on request, as well as a daily mid-week cleaning for stays with a minimum of 5 nights.

May do requests for the reinforcement of breakfast of the next day until 16:30.

Must close accounts and pay until 4 pm on the eve of their departure.

Will be able to enjoy the outdoor spaces until 2 pm, but must check out of the houses until 11 am (only then will it be possible to guarantee compliance with all ventilation and hygiene safety rules).

Understand that exceptional cases may lead to changes in the check-in time, in which cases they will be informed in a timely manner by Chão do Rio.

OUR SUPPLIERS / PARTNERS

Must schedule the delivery of goods in advance by telephone.

Must unload the goods at the back of the reception, in the presence of a member of Chão do Rio staff. The person in charge will ensure their disinfection before storing.

In our facilities, must ensure a minimum social distance of 2 meters.

VISITORS / PASSERS-BY

Visits must be previously scheduled by telephone on +351 919 523 269 and subject to availability.
